I figured there could be a thread about our experiences with the demo. What we like and don't think.
Game overall:
The menus are smooth and 10x faster than 2009. Being able to switch weight classes when your selecting fighters is a key thing. The load times seem hell of a lot faster to. The new Pre-fight show is a nice touch and the announcers seem more real.
Standing:
First thing I felt was that the game was more fluid. Punches seemed more real and you had to worry about what the other person was throwing as well. If you have a character that can switch stances i was thrown off at first, because i was throwing straight punches instead of jabs. The sway system is great and if you land a couple good counters the game is over. Only thing i dont like is i had to flick the stick couples times before it would reg. could be more idk.
Clinch Standing:
WOW is all i have to say. I mean first thing you notice is that its faster and transitioning to one clinch type to another is fanatic. My roommate learned really quick that if i have a muay tai clinch he would automatically go for a takedown. The clinch is no longer one sided and it seems easier to break away while a person was punching/kicking.
Cage work:
This will be a huge game changer. Nice that they added to this years game. People will have to be more aware where they are. If you have a person against the cage and get a deadly mauy tai clinch it could be over very quick. Or at the same time switch to doubles/single leg takedowns. I must say Evans had some amazing looking takedowns off the cage. It caught me by surprise, because it looked so real.
Ground game updated later~
