Hello folks! FF19 is done and I'd say it was great. Every fighter on the card participated and all the fights were done. A big respect to all of you for that. We had Clive Larson vs Marco Cloud in the first match. Ray Burns vs Nelson Pinto in the 2nd. And last, but not least we had Derek Davis vs Mac Tucker. Let's review those matches.
Welterweight Matchup: Clive Larson vs Marco Cloud. Clive Larson wins in the 1st round by the way of submission.
The fight started and the opponents respectfully touched gloves. After that Clive started throwing punches and kicks combinations and going for some take down attempts while Marco stayed on the defensive side probably looking for a chance to counter his opponent while trying to par and sprawl from Clive's attacks. Then a successful takedown attempt from Clive brought the fight to the ground and after a few seconds the fighters were up again and Clive kept on attacking Marco standing. Then another successful take down by Clive and the fighters were down again. Clive mounted his opponent and found a chance to submit Marco. The arm submission by Clive Larson finished the match putting Clive to a 1-0 record and Marco 0-1. The fight got a SOTN award later on.
Middleweight Matchup: Ray Burns vs Nelson Pinto. Ray Burns wins in the first round by the way of KO.
The fight began and the opponents touched gloves showing respect. Then the war started. Both fighters started throwing strikes back and forth and then were stopped by a clinch from Nelson. Then Ray took Nelson down from that clinch and the war continued on the ground. After they got up Ray received another clinch from Nelson which then turned into a take down from Nelson. Again they fought and got up in a few seconds. After getting up Ray threw a few punches at Nelson and a clinch. After fighting in the clinch position Ray took his opponent down again. Then after a long ground fight they got up and Nelson shot a big punch to the head which almost knocked Ray out so Ray had to take his opponent down again. After getting back up both fighters started throwing punches and then Ray successfully countered Nelson with a powerful kick to the head which was followed by a strong punch and Nelson fell to the ground. The KO brought Ray Burns' record up to 1-0 and brought Nelson Pinto's record down to 0-3. That fight won a KOTN award.
Middleweight Matchup Derek Davis vs Mac Tucker. Mac Tucker wins in the 1st round by the way of triangle choke.
The fight started with opponents touching gloves and then Tucker started throwing powerful kicks at Davis. Davis tried to get the fight to the ground and went for a takedown which was successful. Then Tucker saw an opening and went for his triangle choke. Not being able to defend Davis gave in and Mac Tucker won the fight. The submission by Mac Tucker finished the match raising his record to an impressive 3-0 record while Davis is now 1-1. The fight won FOTN .
I would say the fights were pretty good and fair. The first match lacked some more action from Marco's side. Some more experience and he'll get there. The second match was a war all the way. Both of the players were in a risk of being knocked out and both ground and stand up skills were used all the time. The third match was really quick, as well as awesome. Nice footwork and submission skills by Tucker. Davis lacks some defending skills and stand-up, but that's alright. You gotta start somewhere you know
