1FF16 Danger Zone recap Empty FF16 Danger Zone recap 4/23/2011, 10:14 pm

Droges

Droges

Fight Force16 was both a battle between camp management and also a battle of ground supermacy. A fitting name for this card because the ground game was the danger zone where these fights were won and lost.

Manager SeasonedBark746 and manager Jonnyboy0065 showcase their fighters for this card. SeasonedBark746, a new management to OMMA but that's not saying he doesn't bring the experience for his fighters. Jonnyboy0065 has been around the block and he knows his fighters are tried and tested as well.

Here is the results of Danger Zone.

Heavyweight Matchup
Napoleon Norton vs Hector Martinez
Winner: Martinez wins via KO Rd.1 (est 1:30)

The two Heavyweights collide with some light foot work and striking but Martinez wanted the fight on the ground and thats where it went and ended. He made short order to Norton by being aggressive and dominate on the ground. Norton suffers his second lose where as Martinez moves to 2-2

Light Heavyweight Matchup
Jorge Castro vs Lucius Graves
Winner: Graves wins via KO Rd.2 (est 1:25) KOTN

Jorge Castro has been knocking on the door for a belt fight for some time. Unfortunate for him, after Friday night, he will be still knocking. Lucius Graves makes a impressive debut by taking down the vet and winning. In fact thats what this fight was all about. Take down after take down, Graves took Castro to the mat. Castro kept his wits about him and made it into second round however Lucius' ground work was to much and he was able to get full mount and pound out Castro.

Castro is now 4-4.
Graves 1-0 with a very strong performance that already has some people saying he is the one to claim the belt. With only 1 fight under him though, its still to early, but taking out Castro is definitely a strong start.

Middleweight Matchup
Mac Tucker vs Nelson Pinto
Winner: Tucker wins via KO Rd.2 (2:06) FOTN

A debut of fighers in the Middleweight class for OMMA. In this fight Nelson Pinto was dominate in the first round where some were surprised that Tucker was able to make it out of it. Take down and submission attempts were all thrown at Tucker. Tucker was no slouch though and was still very dangerous with his own ground work. The fight was an impressive display by both parties as reversal and sweeps were the common theme.
In the end Tucker has his hands raised as he is the one that keeps the advanage in round2 and finishes ala ground and pound.

Lightweight Matchup
Doug Kardashian vs Dave Pronovost
Winner: No Contest
