What an amazing night of MMA. The fans definitely got their money's worth. On a card full of exciting fights they saw the #2 P4P fighter in OMMA continue his dominance and a new heavyweight champion crowned. Let’s look a little deeper into what happened.

Main Event - Jones vs Hamil
Jon Bones Jones (the UC light heavyweight champ) put his title as well as his undefeated record on the line against top contender Mat Hamil who brought a 2 fight win streak of his own into the cage. The fight starts off slow as both fighters felt each other out waiting for openings in each other’s defense. Jones was able to get in a little clinch work and eventually slammed Hamil to the mat. He then strangely stood the fight up then dove back into Hamil open guard and move into half guard. Jones proceeded to ground and pound then pass to side control. Hamil eventually worked his way back to his feet and clinch Jones. He then executes a slam and started to work some ground and pound of his own. Jones was able to scramble his way to his feet were he gain the clinch again. After pushing Hamil against the cage Jones got in some strikes then slammed Hamil again which resulted in him gaining full mounted. Jones then proceeded to unload with a slew of vicious blows. Hamil eventually pulls Jones down stopping the onslaught. Hamil was then able to reverse Jones and get back to his feet. Both men showcased an amazing show of stand up skills going back and forth testing each other’s chin until Hamil was downed by a right straight from Jones causing the ref to stop the fight. Jones shows that his stand up game is constantly improving and becoming very dangerous. Jones extends his streak to 8 wins.

Co Main Event - Noone vs Lesnar
We had Solomon Noone vs CB Lesnar for the vacant UC heavyweight title. Both fighters came out pumped was they walk to the hexagon and when they finally met in the cage they went straight to work on each other. Lesner landed a strong teep kick to open the fight. Noone followed with several nice combos which was interrupted by another Lesner teep. Then out of nowhere Noone lands powerful hook that drops Lesner but he recovered nicely. Noone backs away and let s Lesnar up as to not gas himself trying to finish. Once Lesnar stood back up Noone tried several combos but failed giving Lesner the chance to go on the offensive and attempt a clinch but failed. Lesner was able to work in several connecting shots which prohibited Noone from gaining any momentum in the fight. Then out of nowhere again Noone floors Lesner with another jaw breaking combo forcing the ref to stop the fight! A great fight by both men to crown UC first HW champion

Light Heavyweight Matchup - Aaron Jones vs Kip Johns
I was very excited for this match a classic Stand-up Vs Grapplers match. As soon as they met in the middle of the cage Johnson made it clear he wanted the fight on the ground trying to clinch Jones but failed. Jones was showing good striking making contact with a lot of his kicks and punches. Less than 1:00 minute into the round Johnson went for his first takedown of the night and succeeds. It was only a matter of time before Johnson was able to poster up in Jones' guard and slap on a kneebar to finish the fight earning him Submission of the Night. With this win Johnson is definitely on the verge of a title shot which would be a rematch where Jones won via 1st round knockout.

Heavyweight Matchup - McAfee vs Holyfield
Another exciting Stand up Vs Grappler matchup inside the Hexagon tonight as rising star Otto McAfee (1-0) a BJJ Black Belt took on boxing legend turned MMA fighter Evander Holyfield who was making his UC debut. As soon as the fight started Holyfield was downed by a amazing head kick by McAfee and was struggling to regain his composer but was able to recover amazingly. Holyfield was stuck on the bottom while McAfee sat in his half guard delivering heavy strikes to the body of Holyfield. After several seconds of striking on the bottom Holyfield was able to get back to his feet. McAfee showed amazing striking ability landing several powerful hooks and kicks. The fight looked to be in McAfee's favor until out of nowhere Holyfield hit McAfee with a textbook left hook dropping McAfee and leaving him out cold on the mat earning him knockout of the night. With this match Holyfield pick up his first MMA win. Although its clear that his MMA striking and ground still need improvement his knockout ability from boxing does translate to MMA.

Heavyweight Matchup - Boyd vs Putzski
Opening of the night was heavy hitter Jay Boyd vs generalist Ivan Putszki. After a very short feeling out period both fighters jumped straight into the action. There was an array of spinning back kicks, high kicks, and hooks from both fighters. Ivan was able to demonstrate is grappling and striking while Boyd came out with a couple of spinning back kicks, and punches. Putzski was downed almost two minutes after the bell and rocked 2 times after that. Boyd was then dropped by a head kick but was able to recover. Putzski sat in Boyd’s half guard trying to work his ground game. Putzski stood up out of Boyd’s guard and more great combos came flying in from both fighters. They went all out throwing everything they can to deliver to the fans what they came to see. Putzski was rocked by a Spinning back kick and went for a desperation clinch but fail and was instead clinched by Boyd and slammed then immediatelty mounted. After serveral strikes Boyd attempted an American and succeeded. Both fighters gave it their all and a rematch should be set up down the line.

On the undercard Eli Kang defeated Raiden Hazuki via 1st Round Submisison, Paul Little defeated Mario Carrol via 1st Round Technical Knockout, Victor Wilson defeated Yoshihiro Yamaguchi via 1st Round Knockout, Ricco Higa defeated Levar Bates via 1st Round Knockout and Freddie Karnes defeated Will richardson via 1st Round Submission. If next event is anything like this one the fans are definitely in for another treat.
