Sorry im late my xbox got rrod and I'm doing the towel trick to fix it... it takes 20 minutes and I just realized I had it when I went to turn it on to go to the card... Sorry guys i know it's irresponsible, i've been super busy today and havent had a chance to turn it on.

How many lights did you get? If its just 2 then simply open your XBOX and clean out all the dust. Do the same to your power block. Check the little holes at the ends and make sure they are not clogged up with dust. The towel trick will only mess up your XBOX.

Lol the xbox im using now is my 3rd one.. The first 1 had the 3 red rings, my second one had that open tray problem. I tried the towel trick on my first xbox and it worked but later on it got the 3 red rings again and the towel tricked never worked again.. But good luck with the towel trick, i hope it works for u.

I say run the sucker till it Red Rings so you can turn it in under the 3-year warranty program. I've had 2 xboxs do this to me but I haven't had to pay a dime to get a replacement, just had to wait 3 weeks which sucks. The towel trick is only a temp solution to this problem.

More then likely if you're Xbox is going to Red Ring, then it's a defect anyways. You want it to red ring while still under the warranty and when you turn in the xbox they renew the warranty again so your new xbox is under warranty for 3 years as well.

Never get an in store warranty, they are rip offs cause they cost you extra and aren't renewed after you get the replacement. I use to work for a extended warranty company that handled instore warranties of computers and other electronics(in big name stores), it was pretty cut throat because we would screw over customers (a reason for me quitting the job).
