With all of the reviews going around on the ea site i guess we shall start our own up.

Just gave two of each to start it off. Ok guys, discuss.

Not very good IMO. This isn't without playing it. I have been on the demo all day with my friend competitively fighting and also just previewing all possible moves and finishes to the fight and here is my pros and cons.

Pros:

1. I LOVE the TKOs on this game. When you rock them standing up, the movement is soo fluent to jump all over them and pound them until the ref stops it. 10x better than UFC game and what I wanted in a UFC game this game has.

2. Leg kicks and body kicks actually affect the fighter and you can put great combinations together using the stick.

3. You can KO people from postured down, pretty shweet.


Cons:

1. The punches look terrible in the mount. They barely connect well at all.

2. The knockouts on the ground look horrible. The animation is so stiff. The punches don't look powerful and they barely connect but the guy gets knocked out.

3. The ground game is too easy to dominate. The controller vibrates and you hit B. You can literally stay in one position and pound away at your opponent and easily stop the transition attempts. You don't even have to move.

4. Takedowns are REALLY hard to stop. I mean I thought UFC did it bad but you can't see them coming in this game and it's hard to press B in time.

5. You can end a fight in like 10 seconds if you take like 7 punches on the stand up. Which is fair enough but online I see this being annoying. because when you get rocked your guard seems to do nothing at all and then 5 more punches land then you get TKOed.

6. Submissions are too easy. It seems every submission I have attempted I have tapped my opponent out. Any submission I get put in with like a bit of stamina gone I get submitted. This may be just the chokes and the zone finding. I get it in the zone perfectly all the time everytime and I still get tapped.

7. The winning cut scene is horrible. No commentary or nothing. and the I have already noticed a winning cut scene re used for Lashley and Shields. That's just on the demo. How many other fighter have the same one?

8. The intros suck and are so half assed. the way the announcer freezes cutting to a fighter is horrible. The mouth barely moves when he is talking. The entrances are horribly half assed too.

9. Is the mount unstoppable? When I have been mounted by my buddy there is nothing I can do to get out of it at all? I just have to sit there with my block up and get knocked out?

I agree with your post. Only thing i'd argue is #8. I kno you wouldn't do it, but man chances are 90% of people gonna just skip it anyways so why put in all the time? Personally i'd watch it but smh.

#9, no its not unstoppable. You have to time it right but you can get out of it. If your stamina is drained your scewed tho. Ive gotten out of it a bunch of times but there are those WTF times.

Ahh I see I shall have to have another go at that mount then. Me and my buddy been mashing this demo all day Mount confuses me. And well I am just disappointed how the announcer freezes while loading the fighter intro that is old school games man.

I negate my comments about the takedowns. Have got the hand of sprawling them now pretty easily. The ground game is easy to stay on top though. I LOVE the striking can't say nothing bad about it at all.

Yeah the ground game and clinch seem to easy to stay in.

Im excited for a k-1 league though.

Big disappointment for me. There are some things I like about it and I'll still get it bcuz its all we have until 2012 but overall I'm not impressed at all.

With that being said, i just escaped a rocked moment being pummeled bad. Pressed the heck outta B ..ROFL lol good times. anyways idk, guess i'll buy Medal of Honor and Call of duty as backup plans.

Smackdown vs RAW 2011, MoH and CoD Black ops for me. May get EA MMA when it is a bit cheaper. Not worth my money at all.

Also, on the demo, put the difficulty on Legend and face Shields or Miller either way. When they get you into a choke submission it is IMPOSSIBLE to get out.

Haven't played SVR since they introduced the money in the bank mode man lol is it any good or spose to be good this year?

And yea i know about the legend mode lol I stay away from it at the time being until the controls become, more natural i guess is the word.

I like it now I finally know how to play.

Controls are natural to me. been fighting my 21 year old brother loads. We just do strikes now, The ground game SUCKS. We can literally sit on top of one another in half guard the WHOLE round if we get the takedown. As soon as one of us transitions the controller vibrates and the other just taps B. Making it impossible to move anywhere so you end up having a striking war bottom to top. But the guy on top can knock you out if you get too much damage. So it's just fucking retarded. the ground game is terrible. K-1 Striking is the only thing good about the full game. Saddens me to say I probably won't be in this league. It's a terrible game and I probably won't get it on release....

the game just doesn't seem dynamic enough especially on the group I don't even have a rumble pad and it easy to block pretty much everything unless i gas myself.

only time it feels dynamic is when i get wrist control and put a sub on.


I had some high praise for EA when i first played it but now that i have played a bit more the game just comes off as lackluster and dull.

After getting use to the controls and hearing some of the problems I had with it have been addressed I feel alot better about it. I still feel its limited in some ways compared to Undisputed. Like not being able to wall walk when near the cage, no standing back clinch, no TD position to transition to or from when against the cage, no north south, punch kick combos arent as fluid and more. The game looks fantastic tho and the career mode sounds like it will be a blast so I'm still pumped.

Yea, i mean i'm still kinda Excited i wont lie. I haven't had my MMA fix since like July? When i traded UFC back in. I like the way the game feels, the graphics leave you asking for more, and the whole aspect of career and a whole array of intl. as well as well known fighters outside of the UFC leaves me thinking it will be ok. But there are def. some things that need to be fixed.

There will be patches, ea is pretty good about that, i know some people will say we should already have those things in the finished product but man they can't fit everything in there before release lol I think people get mad bc of their marketing tactics but the funny thing is, while they're complaining they still buyin their products, so from a business perspective they're making their profit. Man, the industry has to get better ;(

the game is still great playing it with my brother its always exciting ground game is limated but i mdont realy care like the north south control y do they have to put it in its not a major thing in the ufc game it wasint doing any diffrence to the game but hering that the cage dosent do as much in the stand up it upsets me a bit but the game is going to be even better thanks to this website
