Am I just this bad or does ever one have this problem.

First off I have numerous problems with this game. First off I maybe the worst striker ever. Its like I gas out all the time.

My ground game defense sucks. I can't stop a transition at all. Even when Im blocking.

Clinch strkiking for me is just no point it just costs me postions.

And I go on a 3 fight lossing streak against the Cpu.

Is it me?

Im playing on Advance.

It's just because you probably didn't have much time on the alpha/demo homie.

Firstly, if It's your first go around on Career, Go with the lower two difficulty settings. Yea, I know it takes most of the challenge away, but it's the easier way outside of Event cards to string fights together to get yourself ready.

The striking takes a lot to get use too on simulation stamina. You'll eventually learn how/where to pick your shots and flow together. Trust me, it takes getting use too Smile

Ground game is a different ball game. You block transitions with holding the stick left. Right just tries to reverse, but unless your ground grapple btm is high, its a no go. Hold the stick, but remember you only get 3 tries and your opponent will get a freebie with passing your guard etc.

I rarely clinch strike unless I'm against the cage. I have no help for this one lol

Hope this helps homie G.

I am absolutely BOSS at this game. My ground def is actually not that bad... but I will say for the first week of playing it (and I played probably 1 or 2 fights a day only) I couldn't block a transition to save my life. You just have to constantly be on the right stick. If you see him trying to move, hold it back. When you get good at that and recognizing transition initiations, you can try tricky things like reversals (flicking in a small window) or reversal subs (same thing, but instead of flicking the right stick, click it in)

also, striking with simulated stamina KILLED me for the first week. You really just have to learn to play conservatively. Quick strikes are way more effective. Practice a couple fights without throwing any strong strikes... Then start adding one or two in a round. Then when you see an opening --- throw one. Like EA MMA, your stamina heavily dictates how you fight. Don't throw three strong strikes quickly in a row unless your opponent is on the ground rocked.

Also, I have a lot of clinch tricks I'd be willing to show you. Submissions are amazing in this game. Particularly because I'm awesome at them (submitted BJ on Ultimate with Melvin Guillard.)

uhh other generic advice. Jabs. Jabs. Jabs. Leg kicks. Leg kicks. Leg kicks. Jabs. If they're outlanding you, shoot. You should see openings if you use effective quick striking and counter striking.

Last bit of advice is that if you're gassed, throw your hands to your head and disengage. Although, I'd back off any time you feel you need a quick breath,

My advice is to go through career once and not care about how your guy turns out. Instead make note of the training games and moves you really want and learn how to play the game. After you finish career once, then you can go through it again and try to build the guy you want. If you spent a lot of time on how your guy looks (tattoos and whatnot) you can always run them through career again so you don't have to design a CAF from scratch.

I would recommend playing exhibition and putting yourself in positions you don't like (like the clinch or ground) cause the only real way to get good in those areas is to practice them and get a feel for them. The more you practice them, the more confidence you'll have. Even using a lower difficulty where the AI isn't as aggressive can help and then slowly turn up the difficulty as you get comfortable.

almost feels like this game is more of a hassle. Doing career mode more than twice is to time consuming.

I feel your pain.

I just want to finish my 5 guys for OMMA and NEVER do career again if I can get away with it.

However it's possible to cut down on career mode time here and there.

- Don't watch AI fights, the only reason to do this would be if you wanted the KO of the night bonus or Sub of the night bonus on your own card or a yearly bonus but it's WAY too time consuming.

-Skip every cutscene, no need to watch what joe and them say when your CAF isn't done yet.

-If you only want a move at lvl1 and don't plan on leveling it up, just Auto the move. You'll get 2 stars which is enough to learn the move at lvl1.

-If you don't care about winning your last 10 fights (cause you've already bought the upgrades). Just sim the fights

-You can also sim your fight if you believe your guy is going to win hands down (much higher overall).

-If you aren't good at fighting the ultimate AI, then just Sim your fights with the AI and focus strictly on the mini-games to build your stats and camp sessions to get moves. You probably won't be able to buy the last couple of upgrades but you will still have the benefit of ultimate difficulty's stat boost in training games allowing you more actions for moves.

How much of a stat boost are we talking here? I did career on beginner and ultimate and I dont see the difference. The max you can gain from a training session seems the same regardless of difficulty (+5). The only difference I've been able to notice was that you get more CRED on higher difficulties which means you can upgrade faster. Whats the boost?

This is what I know

http://www.ufcundisputed.com/go/thread/view/136085/28943131/UFC_Undisputed_3_FAQ

Q: Why is it that my Career Fighter has much lower stats then my friends’ Career Fighter?
A: Stats that are given to Career fighters are based on the difficulty level of the Career. A fighter on a Beginner Career will receive less stats boost then a fighter on Expert.

Maybe he's wrong or maybe the stats curve differently in ultimate since the higher the stats get, the less you gain from each training mini-game. Then again it could just be that you can earn CRED faster thus allowing you buy the unlocks quicker.

You get a bigger bonus on the Gameplans and the minigames weigh in a little bit heavier but as far as getting moves there is no difference.

I just got some more feedback on this and according to one of my friends, it also affects the stat decay you receive later on when your skills go into the 80s. So on ultimate your stats don't decay as much as they do on lower difficulties.

You get a bigger bonus on the Gameplans and the minigames weigh in a little bit heavier but as far as getting moves there is no difference.

There is a difference cause if you can level up your stats faster then it will give you more actions for moves. In other words it takes less actions to gain the stats you want so you can end up banking some extra moves.
