Stop playing ranked until you get the hang of the game. No need to build an ugly record. Only play in fight cards for a good month or so.

I am an embarrasement to omma... now my record is ugly.

9 fights is nothing to the number of total number matches people have but I don't want to start with a 9 lose streak butt here I am.
I am still confident about the training I did thats why I played 5 more fights because i was so close yet still couldn't come out on top.

Fight cards it is then. Thanks for your suggestion.

I started off 3-12 or something like that.My advice would be stay in lower weights if you having problems striking cuase less likely to get flash ko or 3 punch and your down tko. Also no Fedor or Classic Bas

All 9 fights are with greg martin caf@ww.. I am stuborn. I can hang with guys with big records but obviously not good enought if I can't get into a win column.

stamia management still needs improvement and better fluid special moves.

thanks.

Fight, FIght and Fight some more. Fight Cards are the best way to do this. I fought on Fight Cards like 90% of the time when I first got the game. The People who I used to fight with, went away, and havent seen em since Sad.

If I couuld turn back time to get rid of 4 loses I could have won.

Now I will be 0-9 for a long time while I continue practicing. Whatever though I am not a record whore, most I face will be better then me because I can't put the time in like others but still.. scared I will go with a streak of no wins Mad forever.

I don't want OMMA to look like a chump league with that record.. sorry guys.

Most online users are CC which is sad, I think the game should be played tsc IMO (more immersive) but thats not why I am losing. -My blocking is okay.

very sad state of affairs.

Anyway this is dedicated to all the peeps that added youtube songs to their interview.. this is going to be mine when I come out... lol.

I feel your pain Droges... I'm 2-8 right now and it's due a lot to the same as you've stated in your record. The 2 wins I've gotten have been knock outs, one was in 5 seconds of the bell too. 7 of the 8 losses have been to TKO's as I can't get off a single punch on the opponent and they just rail me till I'm rocked and then finish me. Most I'm sure are CC users but whatever... I think in most areas I'm decent just need some work on blocks and parry's still and then I'm heading back out to even up my record.

10 Re: Stacking balls on 11/30/2010, 3:45 pm

my loses are all submissions minus a tko by a guy stomping on my face 6-10 times.. how do you do that? face stomps, I just do a soccer kick. Stand by their head seems logical.

But I have fought all mine in ww with my caf. I hear lower weight classes are not as bad for getting destroyed by a cc user.

I too will put in more time and then give it another go... I hope to put a win on my record, even better will be to even my record but a win first.

CC users do have a distinct advantage in Striking. It is signifcant enough that a CC user does have the edge in striking, there combos are faster, plain and simple. There weakness though, from what I found out, is movement and controlling the pace. If they are being over aggressive, let them wear themselves out and comeback, but control yourself. Pace yourself, all fights dont need to end in the first round. Also know how to use the ring your in, Circle Cage is the hardest to mange, then comes the boxing ring. Learn how to trap them from moving. The ground game is where i feel I am best at.

That is basically setting up things, like they say strike to pass, pass to strike. I also say strike to sub as well. Confusion is the biggest advantage you can get in the ground game. From the start you usually end in open guard, unless you go for a clinch TD them most of the time you land in half, or side mount. If your in open your main goal is to watch out for the sub on bottom, and get to half. Control your self though. Dont worry and take your time. If you get stood up, thats okay, you were on top, and got a TD, that is usually a good thing. Patience is key in the ground game.

Rest is up to you to find out. Find your style.

This is exactly what I'm talking about ele!

After going through my second career to create my MW CAF, I've found a whole lot more patience, which helped a ton in my second match for OMMA. As you said though it's a matter of applying it and not getting ahead of yourself when online.

What honestly makes it really hard to be patient is getting a KO in the first 10 seconds of a match and not trying to repeat the same result over and over... it's a great feeling and you want it again. But if you/I can overcome that, then the online record will begin to reflect better.

I hear ya arkus and ele25 about patience. Playing through second time on hard I learned way more patience with everything I do.

KO in 10seconds would be most nice a win online would be nice as well.

I got stuck in, that was close I can win the next won.. arggh I faqed up I can win the next one and then boom my record sucks worse then before.. hmm I guess I need work. And here I am like a little school girl complaining

I lose all patience when I rock some one and I swing like a bat outta hell. Been working out that because that tends to be my biggest issue. Composure.

Yep same here... I get that "OOHhh I Rocked him!!! Gotta finish it NOOWWWW!!" mentality and it can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Now if I get that I have to try to close before I throw or go for a takedown or flying knee or superman... something that I can nail from a distance. Unless I have them right on the cage then I just go for broke... Very Happy

Wow, does this thread starter speak to me.. . . .. . oh wait it was me that started it way back (just joking, I am not that big of an idiot)

last night was a terrible night for me.. faqqing terrible!

I did learn some things which is a bonus but at the expense of freaking out like a little kid.. punching chairs drilling pillows on the floor.

I was moving and picking shots, choping people down but no matter what I did, I still got rocked and dropped. Ground defense has increased but anyone with fast ground punches, I am stuck, can't recover stamia because I am parring and if I don't parry they punch my stamia down.

Without giving up to much of my game for future fighters.. looking back, although frustrating becuase I had the advantage in some fights.. I still missed out on important tactics that wouldve' prevented me getting in that position to begin with.

Sorry, I need to vent\rant.. .

This buddy and I had a great fight and it was going into the 2nd round with what appeared, myself having advantage.. and whats this.. a disconnect.. My first out of 200fights. I messaged the guys saying that sucked.. I hope it wasn't a lag switcher, he never responded. I am sure it wasn't.

liking the game but the ranked online record is buggin me and I shouldn't care but its there so I do.

last night I got another disconnect lose! whats up with the servers or my connection?

but did a rematch to my disconnect lose.. (fight didn't even start) a fight later. I was pretty excited because we both had the almost same record.

it went down and it was pretty epic.
20min fight with my winning via split decsion.. we both thought it should have been him but I am glad I got it because I gave him the first win via DQ.

Watch the fight if you want to review.. sambo vs kickboxer and we stood and banged pretty well the whole time. he blasted me with flying knees and we both got a rocked a few times.

In the end I got the 'gift' desion.. could have been the two take downs and 1 knockdown where he had none. I also had him on the ground with a few knees to the head. But in the end we thought it should have been him because he would have got the knod for standup I think.

If you do watch it, let me know what ya think.

my record is at a horrible 29-70 almost all my wins have been against tsc fighters and almost all my losses i mean like 99% are to cc fighters i really believe EA should have made the ranked fights tsc only i mean wats the point of having a 'revolutionary' control scheme if u can be hammered so easily by a button basher Mad

Well Sadatru, it does take practice espically with very aggresive CC users.

With the new stamia patch, it makes it more difficult for them to blast you all round.
But I understand where you are coming from.

Remember you don't need to win it in the first round so move more and if your advantage is on the ground, wait until they gas on the feet and try to take them down. I know its easier said then done.

Been there and struggled for sure.. I still find it weird that cc still has the advanatage with striking due to the fact its faster and the parry has a smaller window. In general though, cc users are weaker on the ground so I guess it even outs in that regard.

I was very discouraged for a long time... your record isn't that bad, you can turn it around. Don't rush your fights and don't get caught going punch for punch.

Ea: MMA has so much to it, Its hard to piece everything together and use the advantage you need at the correct time. Practice and understand the stamia game fully. After about a 100fights K!lla at wasp nest pointed out that I was looking at the stamia game incorrect. I understood the basics but did have a flaw in my understanding.

okay so the latest is.. I like fair fights and if I fight a rookie and I have an advantage that will end the fight early, I will not use that to practice the other facets of the game and... milk xp points.

This has back fired on me getting flashed KO 'ed or subbed on occassion.

I feel bad about my record getting unneeded loses and I actually get upset by them.

But its me playing with fire and letting both guys have fun out of the game.
(I have made friends out of it)

Have you guys done this and added to your lose count. I probably have 10loses that shouldn't have happened.. alll well.. even with my loses I learn from them.

I strive to get my record in the positive but this giving people chances is bitting me in the butt.

Don't give people chances. I get that you're trying to make it fun and all, but it's downright silly when you have 10 losses because of it. You should have fun and give chances when you're playing with friends and stuff, in my opinion.

Ya you are right Bronzy.. .. If I didn't care about my record.. well there wouldn't be an issue.

Its a bad habit I have sometimes and last night was brutal.. lost to a rookie twice becuase first time I waited to long for a sub and it went to the cards for split decision.

then I faced him again for the faqqqing belt and screwed up and lose in the 5th because i am an idoit.

note: the reason I had the advantage to those that are curious.. he had no ground game so I kept it on the feet. I repeatedly let him up and made sure we made it to the later rounds...

Its all for fun but I got to stop that shiat if it bothers me this much.
